Microdermabrasion (an intensive treatment using special micro
crystals to deeply exfoliate and immediately improve the appearance of the skin)
Microdermabrasion is a system that allows a jet of fine,
natural, mineral crystals (Corundum Powder) to be brushed onto the surface of
the skin where it abrades dry, dead or redundant cell tissue with little trauma,
but with high precision which had therefore been unattainable with other
techniques.

What are a Micro-Dermabrasion treatments like?
With the aid of micro-crystals vacuumed
through a delicate hand piece, held at a precise angle to the skin, an
aesthetician effects a superficial skin polishing. In as little as twenty
minutes this gentle abrasive technique efficiently produces satisfying results.
Treatments are applied through a course of weekly sessions. Micro-Dermabrasion
enhance skin condition and do what no other available treatment can (without
surgery) in combating the signs of aging skin. Most importantly, it is safe to
use on all skin types and colors.
Does Micro-Dermabrasion hurt?
No. The Micro-Dermabrasion peels the skin, but it is not
painful and does not require pre-treatment or topical anesthesia.
How many times does the Micro-Dermabrasion need to be performed
to achieve results?
The average patient requires between 5-9 treatments spaced 1-2
weeks apart to see results. However, it appears that because patients do see
continuing results, many choose to have the procedure performed monthly as a
maintenance treatment.
What results can you expect?
Depending on the area treated, you will notice an improvement
in your skin's appearance. Acne scars will be less obvious. Age spots and fine
lines are erased and many patients report that their skin seems to be softer,
smoother and younger-looking.
What to expect after procedure?

Skin Peeling. The skin may feel tight as if exposed to the sun or wind for a
while after treatment. Some skins may peel.
2. Slight Redness & Swelling. Deeper treatment level for more blemished or
thicker skins. The skin will appear slightly red and swollen from a few hours to
a few days for more sensitive skins. Some skins may peel.
Are there any risks with the procedure?
There are minimal risks with the procedure, the most common
side effect being redness of the skin which usually is gone after 24-48 hours
and easily covered with makeup; however, men having the procedure performed are
finding that the redness is minor and short lasting.
How should I care for a treated area?
Pre-Treatment:
• Avoid direct sun exposure 1 week prior to treatment.
• Discontinue glycolic or Retin-A products 3 days prior.
Post-Treatment:
• Avoid direct sun exposure 1 week after treatment.
• Apply sunscreen before going in the sun.
• Discontinue glycolic or Retin-A products 3 days following.
• Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
• Avoid hot water application for 24 hours after treatment.
• Avoid chlorinated pools for 24 hours after treatment.
